On October 5, 2021, Microsoft released Windows 11, the latest version of its operating system for the PC. More than two years later, however, it only has a market share of around 27 percent, according to official data from StatCounter. The considerably older predecessor Windows 10, which was released in 2015, was still installed on about 68 percent of all Windows computers in November. But this balance of power is likely to change in just over two years at the latest.
