During the follow-up hearing, the four defendants initially added their statements, they grew up in Tyrol and managed without the Arab interpreter. “When she said goodbye, she smiled,” one of them shrugged. “I heard her moan in the room,” said the other. The girlfriend got a call for help

The parents later found their daughter in the clinic apathetic and apparently traumatized. At first she barely spoke a word. “How is your daughter today?” the judge asked the father as a witness. He burst into tears: “She’s not like she used to be.” She hardly dares to leave at night, often has anxiety attacks and feels watched
But he also described that the 18-year-old experienced occasional mood swings before the traumatic experience — including therapy, which is now all the more needed.
Judgments not final
A complex case for the jury, which ultimately arose from a shameless exploitation of the situation by the quartet and the defenselessness of the victim. Three defendants were sentenced to 3.5 years in prison, one even four years. Defense lawyers immediately appealed, so the verdict is not final.
