The fire brigade of Thörl in Styria became the lifebuoy of a bull on Friday. The animal had fallen into a manure gutter and had to be rescued.
It is still a mystery how the animal could fall into the manure pit. Commander Lukas Ebner did not hesitate for a moment and immediately left with his comrades when he was warned about the animal rescue in Thörl.
Challenging mission
The emergency services first set up a pressure aerator to ensure the supply of oxygen in the slurry pit. At the same time, a man equipped himself with heavy respiratory protection and waders. He boldly secured the cattle with leashes. After that, the poor animal could finally be lifted out of the manure pit with a farm loader.
Everyone was relieved when the bull was finally herded into the stable unharmed.
