Scammers are never out of ideas! Now there is a new scam: fake PCR results are sent to victims via SMS.
“Dear user! Your lab results are available at the following link.” This is stated in the text message sent by the scammers. Several Carinthians have already received this message. The police warns: “Never click on the link! There are scammers behind it. The perpetrators are targeting passwords, account numbers and personal information.”
Test system hacked?
It is not yet clear how the perpetrators obtained the telephone numbers of the victims. “The test system could also have been hacked, because some victims were actually at the test station – then they received this text message,” the police suspect, advising: “Such a text message should be deleted immediately!”
