An eight-year-old girl fell from a window on the fourth floor of an apartment building in Vienna on Tuesday afternoon. It sustained life-threatening injuries.
The dramatic incident happened around 3 p.m. Alerted police were apparently the first to arrive and immediately began providing first aid to the little girl. Shortly afterwards, the helpers of the Vienna professional rescue service took over the further care of the eight-year-old.
The girl suffered life-threatening injuries when she fell several meters deep and was taken to hospital by rescue helicopter.
Little was disclosed about the exact course of the accident – with reference to the privacy of the shocked family. However, the police did not believe that there was any interference from outside.
