A Viennese man with dementia actually wanted to go on holiday with his family on the popular Croatian island of Krk. But since June 19, the man has disappeared without a trace. In Croatia he is even wanted through an ATM. The police ask for information.
Roland P. from Vienna has been missing since June 19 – reports the “Krone”. The dementia patient was on holiday with his family on the Croatian island of Krk. “My father was totally exhausted when we arrived as we traveled at night and he is not used to this. My grandmother brought it to the room for lunch,” the daughter recalls of the day.
Search on a large scale
When the family looked for the 61-year-old, he was gone. Relatives and the police searched for the Viennese – so far without success.
Pensioners are also sought via ATMs
The family turned to the “Austria Finds You” initiative and have been searching for the missing person together ever since. “For the first time, we managed to search for a person through ATMs, and then in two countries – Croatia and Slovenia,” said Christian Mader, president of the association. The ATM company Euronet offers this service free of charge. Never before has a missing Austrian been searched so intensively abroad.
The pensioner is said to have been seen on June 24. Since then there has been no trace.
