Not legally binding – 11 years in prison for attempted murder of ex-partner

Date:

11 years in prison for a 31-year-old woman from Upper Austria. The Welsh jury almost unanimously voted 7-1 in favor of attempted murder. The mother of two was arguing and drunk and then attacked her partner with a knife. The verdict is not final.

The impeccability of the accused and admitting that it was an attempt, as well as the provocation and previous behavior of their ex-partner were judged as soothing (35). Aggravating were the act against a family member, the use of a weapon, the act in the presence of a child, treason and the coincidence of criminal offences.

“Delete Attempted Death”
In his closing speech, the prosecutor had seen a “crystal clear attempted murder” through a massive knife attack on the former partner’s neck and attempted murder. This was confirmed by the medical report, the assassination attempt was a matter of hate, the breeding ground for the 31-year-old’s lack of empathy and the toxic relationship between the two.

The accused apologized to their children
The lawyer again pointed to the difficult living situation of the suspects and their abusive relationships. It was clear to her that the 31-year-old did not want to kill her ex-partner. You didn’t want to lose him.

The drunkenness of 1.8 per mille was considerable and the defendant was limited in her ability to act. She has already received her sentence with almost a year in prison and the separation of her children. She appealed to the jury to decide for the defendant when in doubt and that what she wanted with her act was decisive. The accused apologized “especially to my children” and her ex-partner.
