A serious traffic accident caused by a crossing game preoccupied the emergency services in Voitsdorf (Upper Austria) on Friday morning. A motorist died after a failed evasive maneuver.
On Friday around 6:25 a.m., a serious traffic accident occurred in Voitsdorf on Kremsmünsterer Straße L 562. A 55-year-old from the district of Gmunden drove his car on the L 562 in the direction of Pettenbach. At kilometer 15.5 in the municipal area of Ried im Traunkreis, a wild animal ran across the road, causing the driver to swerve and end up in the oncoming lane.

At the same time, a 44-year-old from the Wels-Land district steered a truck in the opposite direction. The two vehicles collided head-on. After the frontal collision, the car was dragged about 50 meters, partly under the truck. The 55-year-old man was seriously injured and tragically died at the scene of the accident.
