Little Fighter – Physio allows “Aqua” to join the herd

Date:

In August, a small goat was found in a creek tended by animal rights activists. The animal had a broken pelvis and received two months of therapy. Now there was a happy ending.

In August, a small goat was found in the water near Klaus in the Steyrling. The animal may have been injured when it fell into the water – a bilateral pelvic fracture. Passers-by discovered the goat and immediately notified the animal paradise in Schabenreith. And there “Aqua” (water), as the poor animal was soon baptized, has been lovingly cared for for the past two months.

Daily Therapy
Since surgery was not possible, the goat received physiotherapy. In the beginning, she was massaged every hour by the zookeepers and gently lifted on her four legs. The first successes came quickly, the goat was able to stand on its own after just a few days and could get up without help.

Arrived in the herd
After two months, “Aqua” was finally nursed back to the point where she could take another big step in her young life. “After sniffing her colleagues through the fence on a separate piece of pasture for a while, she has now been accepted as a full member of the claw community,” says Doris Hofner-Foltin of Tierparadies Schabenreith. Together with the other animals “Aqua” now runs and jumps through the enclosure and enjoys life. After the rescue “Aqua” was just a lot of misery, but now the goat is fully accepted by the other animals.
