A 13-year-old was crossing a zebra crossing in Leoben, Styria, on Friday when a driver hit him head-on and then fled. Now the police are looking.
At around 5 pm, the boy unsuspectingly drove his scooter over a traffic light-controlled protection route on the L 101 in Leoben towards Mareckkai. Witnesses said the traffic light was red when the vehicle hit the 13-year-old there.

The impact was so severe that parts of the car were even torn off. The driver drove on anyway and left the boy injured on the road. He came to the LKH Leoben with injuries of unknown degree.
The police are now requesting information from the population by calling 059133/664444.
An examination of the wreckage revealed that it was a white Fiat 500.
