Extinction Rebellion climate activists will stop at nothing. Now they’ve glued themselves to Ferrari sports cars at the Paris Motor Show Mondial de l’Auto.
According to their own statements, about a dozen members of “XR” protested the “individual car model” promoted by the industry.
“polluting industry”
With their action, the activists demanded an end to the advertising of private car ownership and wanted to improve local public transport. The auto industry is “a polluting industry” that tries to “whitewash its image with ‘green vehicles'”, but continues to promote private cars as the mode of transport of the future.
Videos posted to Twitter show several members of the group sticking their hands on luxury red cars.
Others hold up banners or daub the cars with paint.
Car blockades and attacks on artworks
In Austria, too, climate activists continue to cause a stir with car blockades on access roads and cause a lot of nuisance for motorists.
Attacks on famous works of art by the activists are also almost the order of the day and continue to shock people.
Just last week, two environmentalists poured tomato soup on Van Gogh’s famous “Sunflowers” at the National Gallery in London. In early October, activists clung to a Picasso painting in Melbourne, Australia.
