‘There was blood everywhere’ – delivery person ‘Krone’ saves injured cyclist

Date:

A “Krone” delivery man in East Tyrol reacted with determination and courage on Sunday. Stefanie Kleinlercher was early in the morning in the St. Veit neighborhood of Defereggen when she saw a man lying at a bus stop. In an interview with the “Krone” she tells how she helped the seriously injured.

“I was walking in St. Veit around 5:30 a.m. when I noticed a man lying in the street,” Kleinlercher recalls. She stopped her car and checked it. The 56-year-old was seriously injured. He should have fallen on the St. Veiter Landesstraße with his e-bike. “It didn’t look good for the injured person, because there was blood everywhere. That’s why I immediately called the rescue service,” says the delivery person of the “Krone”.

Passers-by have saved lives
“The man could still talk, but had injuries to his head and legs.” While the young woman was tending the seriously injured man, a couple happened to drive by, who also stopped immediately. “The man is a paramedic; he helped me with first aid,” says Kleinlercher. Shortly afterwards, the rescue team arrived and treated the 56-year-old professionally.

“Krone” carrier as a lifesaver
The East Tyrolean was then taken by ambulance to the district hospital in Lienz, where he was to be admitted as a patient. “We cannot yet say how the accident happened, because the victim has not yet been questioned,” said an officer of the Matrei police inspectorate. For Kleinlercher it continued after their exemplary commitment; she had yet to deliver to a few “Krone” readers.
