In the Piesendorf murder case, the Salzburg Public Prosecutor’s Office has drawn up an official report against innkeeper Christian L.: according to this, he allegedly murdered his wife, who lived separately from him, on 13 May in an inn in the municipality of Pinzgau with three stab wounds.
The suspect allegedly strangled his victim beforehand. The woman, with whom he has a child, is also said to have been “specifically lured to the scene of the crime,” explains Elena Haslinger of the prosecution: “In our opinion, the suspect planned the crime. He always had the exact same knife. like the murder weapon within reach in his sock drawer,” Haslinger says.
jealousy as a motive
The motive may have been jealousy. The indictment speaks of “massive possessiveness” and “increasing aggression after the divorce”. The victim had reported him weeks before the crime – there was a restraining order until a day before the crime.
The trial date has not yet been set
Defender Franz Essl previously speaks of “manslaughter”: the victim “never admitted her affair. This drove my client to despair.” But in the end, it’s up to the jury to decide. A trial date has not yet been announced.
