In the Lower Austrian district of Horn between Hessendorf and the 130 inhabitants village of Oberhöflein, as reported, a search was carried out for more than a week. According to the first reports, it is now certain: waitress Kerstin M. is no longer alive. She was rescued from a pond near her workplace – the fishing paradise of Hessendorf. The “Krone” knows the details.
Monday morning’s police barriers foreshadowed what became a sad certainty hours later: 48-year-old Kerstin M. is dead. She was found in her moped car in a pond near fishing paradise Hessendorf.
For hours the emergency services were busy with the recovery, for a long time the question was whether it was the Aixam they were looking for and whether the friendly waitress was still there.
Mystery of the cause of death
For the time being, however, one essential question cannot be answered. It is not yet clear whether violence was used. An autopsy should provide certainty about the cause of death.
“It’s incredibly tragic and I’m so sorry. Kerstin was an extremely kind and helpful person,” Michael Neubert, owner of the Anglerparadies, said of the tragic events.
Animals well housed
He was also the landlord of her home in Oberhöflein, ensuring that her animals — two dogs and three rabbits — were safely housed after he starved them in the house, days after the 48-year-old’s last sign of life. “We have housed the rabbits in our fishing paradise. You’re all right,” Neubert said. One dog was temporarily taken care of by the aunt, the other by a good friend of Kerstin M.
After a week of great uncertainty and unrest in the 130 inhabitants village of Oberhöflein, there is now the sad certainty that Kerstin will not come back.
