Operation in Panama – Founder McFit’s Search for Jet Expanded

Date:

After the crash of German entrepreneur Rainer Schaller’s private plane off the coast of Costa Rica, emergency services have now expanded their search. In consultation with the authorities of the neighboring country, wreckage was also searched from the air in Panamanian waters. Initially, however, no debris was found there either.

There were a total of six people on board the machine at the time of the Friday night accident: McFit founder Schaller, his partner, the two children, another German and the Swiss pilot.

The weather makes it difficult to find
The bodies of a man and child, as well as debris and luggage, were found in the sea this weekend. The search proved difficult at times due to the bad weather conditions, but on Monday it had improved for the first time.

The cause of the accident is a mystery
The plane was coming from Mexico and crashed into the sea near the Caribbean coast of Costa Rica. The cause of the crash is still unclear. The private plane did not have a flight recorder or a device to record communications. Due to the small size of the planes, they were not required by the Costa Rican authorities.
