Marten caused a power failure in 250 households in the Zillertal

The lights suddenly went out at about 250 households in Fügenberg in the Zillertal on Thursday evening. The reason: A marten had caused a short circuit in a transformer station, causing a power failure. After about two hours, the power was restored.

It was around 8:45 p.m. when it was getting dark in many houses in Fügenberg. A marten had tampered with a transformer substation in the city and caused a short circuit.

The volunteer fire brigade in Fügen immediately went out to repair the damage. “After about two hours, the power supply could be activated again,” said the police. The marten did not survive contact with the current.
