Shortly before 1 a.m., the Fladnitz and Eichkögl fire brigades with four vehicles and 25 men were alerted to use the level crossing. After the accident site was secured by the emergency services, the truck was recovered with a cable winch and removed from the danger zone. Liquids that had escaped were bound.
The fire brigade then cleared the street. The railway was closed for just over two hours. The alcohol test showed that the Pole who lived in Graz was heavily intoxicated.
