Senior woman assaulted – 13-year-old was convicted as wallet thief

A 67-year-old had chosen two handbag thieves in Linz as their next victim. Apparently they hadn’t expected the elderly woman to defend herself and the two would have to flee without taking anything. Moments later, the 13-year-old and his 18-year-old accomplice were arrested.

A 67-year-old from Linz was walking on Linz’s Franckstraße towards Europaplatz on the national holiday around 11:40 PM to catch her bus home. Shortly before the stop, two unknown men approached her, stood in her way and asked for money. Not wanting to give them money, an attacker threatened her that he would otherwise attack her with a knife. Suddenly one of the perpetrators grabbed the handbag and a scuffle ensued.

Victim fell to the ground
The 67-year-old fell in a meadow, but was able to keep her handbag. The two attackers then walked away without taking anything. The woman was unharmed in the attack. An immediately launched search for the perpetrators was successful. The two perpetrators, an 18-year-old and a 13-year-old Romanian citizen, both from Linz, were arrested moments later and arrested in Franckstrasse. You were clearly recognized by the woman as the perpetrator.
