The subsidy of 550 euros per month for 24-hour care has not been adjusted since 2007. 120,000 affected people feel left alone. Four are now reporting their fate.
The 24-hour care has proven itself as a supplement to intramural facilities. 40,000 people in Austria are cared for at home. Since 2007 there is a monthly subsidy of 550 euros. From January there should now be an increase of 90 euros per month.
However, those affected feel abandoned as that would only absorb a fraction of the current inflation – not to mention the loss of purchasing power since 2007. Four of those affected want to draw attention to the problem and tell about their fate. They want to open the eyes of politicians.
