Hired by Iran? – Alleged spies arrested on Crete and Cyprus

On the Greek island of Crete, the Greek security authorities arrested a man (26) who apparently spied an American military base. There was also a similar incident in Cyprus.

According to a report from the Ertnew station, the man had a Polish travel document and lived in a hotel near the American military base Souda. He was observed in how he photographed strategically relevant places. He also focused on the warships in the Bay of Souda. The police have protected around 5000 photos and countless videos. The suspect must be brought before the public prosecutor.

It was only on Saturday that a man was arrested in Cyprus, who is said to have planned a terrorist attack on military facilities of the Island Republic. In this case too, the alleged murderer should come from Azerbaijan. It is said that he acted on behalf of the Iranian revolutionary guards and traveled with a British passport, Cypriot media reported, who quoted government circles.

Western bases in the Mediterranean Sea that two British bases in Cyprus and also the strategically important American base in Souda in the war between Israel and Iran, according to Cypriot and Greek security forces, can be the goal of extremist groups.
