Bloody scenes played out in front of a bar in Vienna-Margareten on Sunday evening. Two men got into an argument, the fight shifted to the street and ended up in hospital with serious stab wounds to one of the two opponents.
Police and ambulance were alerted at about 12:45 p.m. The 31-year-old had suffered serious stab wounds in a few cases – with which murder weapon is not yet clear, because witness statements differ. There was talk of a knife, but also of a broken glass bottle.

In any case, the 34-year-old came under suspicion – the man the victim had previously argued with. The suspect was arrested in the restaurant by officers from the standby unit with the support of WEGA. The 31-year-old was taken care of by the professional rescue service after the police first gave him first aid and was then taken to hospital. The investigation is underway.
Threatened and insulted guests for no reason
As early as 10:45 p.m., a 22-year-old had insulted and threatened guests with a knife at a restaurant on Karlsplatz for no apparent reason. The Russian citizen is also said to have punched a man in the face. After his arrest, he refused to testify.
According to the police, a 41-year-old Slovakian with three per mille grabbed a knife on Saturday evening because he suspected that a 38-year-old woman with whom he had been drinking previously had stolen his wallet. He was arrested and the murder weapon was secured.
