Despite Russia’s decision to withdraw from the grain export agreement with Ukraine, two cargo ships carrying grain and other agricultural products left Ukrainian ports on Monday.
According to the Marine Traffic tracking website, the “Admiral de Ribas” and “Mount Baker” have used the humanitarian sea corridor to Turkey.
According to the coordination center in Istanbul, which is responsible for overseeing the agreement, a total of 12 cargo ships would leave for Turkey on Monday.
Agreement “indefinitely” suspended.
Russia on Saturday suspended the approval of the exports agreed in the grain agreement ‘indefinitely’. The agreement was originally set to expire on November 19, but would have been automatically extended if neither side had objected. Moscow has recently repeatedly criticized the agreement for seeing its own grain and fertilizer exports slowed as a result of sanctions imposed by the West.
