Serious accident Monday morning in Burgenland: A car has been hit by a train at a level crossing near Gols (district Neusiedl am See). The passenger in the car suffered fatal injuries, for him all help came too late.
The car with Bulgarian number plates was probably driving on the L205 from Gols towards Podersdorf (Neusiedl am See district) when the collision took place. The passenger died at the scene, three other people in the car were injured in the collision, the Burgenland State Security Center (LSZ) said on APA request.
The victims were taken by ambulance to Eisenstadt hospital. The cause of the accident was initially unclear. In addition to rescue and police, the Gols fire brigade and an emergency doctor were also present.
