Bald patches of skin all over the body, inflamed eyes and much too narrow nostrils: in Eastern Styria, two small puppies have now been freed from illegal breeding. The official veterinarian had uncovered the illegal trade in French bulldogs. “Pillow” and “Willow” were taken to Noah’s Ark in Graz, where they are already absolute favorites.
Oversized funny eyes, little noses and cute little wrinkles – as cute as they look, the little bulldog babies are sick. Another serious case of torture breeding and illegal puppy trade was discovered in Styria. Official veterinarian Birgit Plank of the BH Hartberg-Fürstenfeld came across a dubious “breeding” of French bulldogs.
Not related to the alleged dog mother
Due to suspicions of illegal puppy trade, the puppies were eventually genetically tested on their alleged mother. The result: The young animals are in no way related to the specified bitch. They were probably imported from abroad. According to Actief Dierenwelzijn, the incorrect or non-existent information on the vaccination cards would also indicate this.
Bad Consequences of Breeding Torments
Two of the original five puppies (three have already been sold by the breeder) have been taken by the Official Vet to Noah’s Ark in Graz by Active Animal Welfare’s animal rescue service. Although “Willow” and his brother “Pillow” are only five months old, they are already suffering the ravages of torture. Their nostrils alone are so narrow that when they grow up they almost certainly cannot avoid surgery to breathe properly.
