Spectacular rescue operation in Tyrol: A local climber came neither forward nor backward in the Martinswand near Zirl (Innsbruck-Land district) on Monday afternoon. The police helicopter had to turn out to rescue the man.
The local was on the “Rucola” route with two fellow climbers and already on the way back. He was the first of the three climbers to abseil. According to the police, the athlete should have gotten his rope stuck in a rock niche.
