The one that landed on the ORF aid campaign bill two weeks ago has overshadowed everything that had come before. The ‘Krone’ reported on Thursday that Red Bull owner Mark Mateschitz supported the facility with five million euros. “I’m not allowed to mention names. The fact is that we have received a donation of this amount,” the ORF manager confirms to “Krone”.
And: “We received the donation very quickly. We conclude that the donor is very concerned and sympathetic. It is difficult to describe how important the donation is on this scale. She increased our total donations to approximately 16 million. Every individual donation helps. But you can say with confidence that, especially in Tullnerfeld, which was badly affected by floods, a third of every euro comes from this one donor. My heart swells. “Then you know you live in a good country,” says Pius Strobl.
If Chancellor Nehammer and Vice Chancellor Kogler double the total donation amount as proposed, “this one generous donation would be twice as valuable. Nevertheless, it also has a motivating effect on other major entrepreneurs,” hopes the head of “Austria helps Austria”.
Dozens of applications are received every day and hundreds of thousands of euros are paid out every day. “In the very important phase of immediate aid, every euro that ends up in the account without bureaucracy is a blessing.”
