After enormous losses, according to the British secret services, Russia apparently lacks modern combat vehicles. Russian soldiers are frustrated at having to use old infantry vehicles called “aluminum cans.”
In mid-October, Russian units lost more than 40 vehicles a day in Ukrainian counter-attacks, which is roughly equivalent to equipping an entire battalion, according to the British Ministry of Defense.
Over the past week, Moscow has bought at least 100 additional tanks and infantry fighting vehicles from Belarusian stocks.
Presumably, however, it is difficult for the Russian units to find enough suitable replacements for the damaged material, causing problems for the offensive.
Russia continues invasion
However, the shelling on Ukrainian territory continues. For example, the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant in southern Ukraine was hit again and power lines were damaged. The nuclear power plant is currently powered by diesel generators. There were also reports of heavy explosions from the Russian-occupied city of Melitopol. Attacks were also reported in Donbass and central Ukraine.
