Residents around the station square are afraid that shops will close their bars earlier for safety reasons. The situation has deteriorated significantly in recent months and the “Krone” has reported extensively. Local politicians see it too. Mayor Harald Preuner (ÖVP), alderman Anja Hagenauer (SPÖ) and top officials received a photo of the place on Wednesday. And this was clear: different groups have gathered on the station square, the benches at the bus stations are used by homeless people. Preuner was greeted enthusiastically at the local inspection by two apparently homeless people.
