Did someone deliberately set fire to the waste island on Waldeggstrasse in Linz or was it negligence? However, the fire destroyed more than just the dumpsters.
At about half past three in the morning, witnesses alerted the emergency services that a waste container was on fire in Waldeggstrasse. When the police arrived, a large waste island was already on fire.
Three cars badly damaged
These had already spread to two parked cars and a third was also damaged by the heat. It was also the heat that melted the entire thermal insulation on the house next to the waste island – only the prompt intervention of the professional fire brigade prevented the facade from catching fire.
After about half an hour, the ghost was over and the fire brigade had extinguished the flames. Now the police fire investigators have yet to find out whether the waste island was set on fire on purpose.
The waste island was completely destroyed by the fire. There was significant damage to three vehicles. No one was endangered or injured by the fire.
