In the summer of 2020, Franz W. (41) and two friends of Simmering went to the Ernst Kirchweger house in Favoriten, which was inhabited by punks: “We wanted to help our friends because the house was surrounded by Turkish Nazis,” explains the accused judge Nicole Baczak.
Accidental encounter with the later victim
On their way there, the trio met two men they also attributed to the far-right scene: “My friend saw that they were wearing a sweater from a brand that is considered a distinguishing feature of the far-right scene.” – A circumstance that the victim denied a salary calculator in court.

There is no question that there was an argument and a devastating blow – with a square piece of wood on the ground – to his head. Diagnosis: Multiple skull fractures and traumatic brain injury. “I didn’t want to kill him. I was attacked with the wood for that,” says the punk, who is neatly dressed for the trial.
