Wild scenes played out in a nightclub in Innsbruck: an initially unknown perpetrator broke into the club and attacked two bouncers with a bar stool and beer crates. The security services managed to push the violent intruder out again, after which the rabid night owl fled. The suspect was arrested after an extensive investigation.
The attack took place last week, but was only announced by the police on Tuesday. The scene was the infamous Bogenmeile in Innsbruck. At around 6:30 a.m., the initially unknown perpetrator entered the club by hitting a bouncer with a bar stool. Immediately afterwards, the perpetrator grabbed two crates of beer and threw them at head height at another guard, according to investigators.
The two guards eventually managed to force the stranger out of the nightclub with combined forces. The rabid offender then fled. “The guards and a local guest present were injured as a result of the act,” the investigators continued. There was also material damage – the amount could not yet be quantified.
Syrians (36) identified
After extensive investigation, the police were able to identify a suspect. It is a 36-year-old Syrian man. After completion of the investigation, he will be reported to the public prosecutor’s office in Innsbruck.
