Without permanent residence – Tenant (39) arrested after fire in Graz

Date:

As reported, the Graz professional fire brigade was alerted to a fire in the St. Peter district on Sunday morning. The fire that broke out in an apartment building caused anxious minutes. Five people were eventually rescued with minor injuries. However, a tenant (39) was arrested after the fire.

In the early hours of the morning, the sirens of the professional fire brigade of Graz blared. At around 5 a.m., a fire broke out in an apartment in a block of flats. When the Florianis arrived, the fire had already spread to the roof construction and other apartments in the house. Five people were slightly injured as a result of the fire and were treated on an outpatient basis at the LKH Graz.

39 year old tenant not reported in the apartment
One of the injured was the 39-year-old resident of the affected apartment, who was not registered there. During his subsequent interrogation, the man was extremely unwilling. The officials then transferred the 39-year-old to Graz-Jakomini Prison. Because the 39-year-old has no permanent residence, the public prosecutor’s office in Graz has ordered an arrest request.

The cause of the fire may have been negligent handling of open flames. Because the man provides little information, the real cause is still unclear.
