Fatal accident at work on Sunday in Weerberg in the Tyrolean Unterland: A 62-year-old resident lost his balance while chopping at the company’s construction site and fell six meters. The man suffered serious injuries and had to be flown by emergency helicopter to the clinic in Innsbruck.
In the morning, the 62-year-old was busy with the new building. He was scraping the second-floor gable, stepping one foot on one of the outer scaffolding planks. And then it happened!
“It was secured from below with two nails. His body weight suddenly loosened the two nails and the plank sagged a few centimeters. As a result, the man lost his balance and fell six meters down, the police said.
Son immediately raised the alarm
The Tyrolean hit the ground with full force. His son had seen the crash, immediately called 911 and administered first aid. After first aid at the scene of the accident, the injured person was flown by helicopter to the clinic in Innsbruck.
