World2meet (W2M), the travel division of the Iberostar Group, has reached an agreement with the Eroski Group to 100% of its travel subsidiary (Viajes Eroski), founded in 1979, with more than 132 outlets and a staff that is about 300 people.
The acquisition operation is expected to close by the end of January next year, when certain terms of the deal are estimated to have been met, as reported in a statement Tuesday, which does not disclose economic details of the operation.
As part of the agreement, Eroski will give W2M the use of the Viajes Eroski brand for a period of time to facilitate transition and integration into the tourism group.
Similarly, Viajes Eroski and Travelair online business travel platforms remain fully operational.
With the integration of the Viajes Eroski network, W2M is expanding its presence on a national level, which already started with the acquisition of Azul Marino Viajes.
For his part, the corporate director of the Eroski Group, Javier Amezaga, has assessed the agreement to ensure the success and growth of the travel industry and ensure the continuity of the professionals that make it up.
The origins of Viajes Eroski date back to 1979 and in these more than 40 years it has specialized in the holiday area with two brands, Eroski Viajes and Xplora, with more than 132 customer service outlets and an experience store aimed at younger generations.
Also in the business field, under the Travel Air brand, with 11 exclusive service centers for the company and a division specialized in the organization of conferences and conventions, Travel Air Events.
