A 59-year-old man was killed in a work accident on Wednesday. The Viennese was unloading heavy stone blocks at a company in Lower Austria. One of them fell over and buried the worker underneath.
The dramatic accident happened around 8 a.m. in Traiskirchen in the Baden district. The Viennese from the Leopoldstadt district was just unloading a van with blocks of stone of about five tons each.
“During this unloading process, such a block of stone should have tilted and fell on the 59-year-old,” the police reported on Thursday.
Free from colleagues
Colleagues witnessed the accident and were able to free the man. After first aid, the victim was admitted to Baden State Hospital. However, the 59-year-old succumbed to his injuries moments later.
