A dangerous place to sleep has cost the life of a young woman in the Czech Republic. According to Czech media, she was crushed by the press of a garbage truck after sleeping in a dumpster.
The garbage collection service had emptied the container Monday morning and heard screaming from the vehicle shortly afterwards, a police spokeswoman said. The rescue service called could no longer help the trapped woman.
The detective has started an investigation into the identity of the dead and the exact circumstances. The workers said they had not seen the woman looking into the container.
Time and again, serious and fatal accidents occur in the Czech Republic during the cold season due to homeless people sleeping in rubbish containers. The latest accident happened in the mining and industrial town of Havirov, nearly 300 kilometers east of the capital Prague.
