Use of animals – the police rescued cows and calves from the rails

Date:

“Cow on the trail”: Police officers in Salzburg’s Bruck an der Glocknerstraße heard this unusual radio message on Sunday. The officials left – and had to move several cattle and calves to safety.

First, a cow was driven off the rails to the adjacent site of a timber company. Six other cattle were found on the property. And: The owner informed the police that one of the cows was pregnant and must have given birth to a calf during the night, which is now missing.

Calf between high piles of wood
The police searched the company premises and found the newborn calf between high piles of wood next to the railway. It was fine. Based on the traces on the spot, the police assume that the newborn calf went on a reconnaissance trip from the pasture under the fence after birth.

The rest of the herd escaped and went in search of the newborn and ended up on the trail.
