News of the oldest text ever found in the Basque language has reached the United Arab Emirates, where the Sharjah24 website has devoted an article to it. It is also reported by media from Brazil and Portugal, such as “Correio Braziliense” or CNN Portugal.

Since the Aranzadi Science Society announced yesterday the discovery of the oldest text written in the Basque language in the Aranguren Valley (Navarre), the already famous hand of irulegi it monopolizes the headlines in all media in Euskal Herria and is the subject of conversation on social networks. Although small, the discovery has also spread to Spain and France. However, it is curious to discover that the news has traveled even further, including to the United Arab Emirates or Brazil.
The Web Sharjah24an online news portal from one of the seven Arab Emirates, collects the details of the discovery and accompanies the article with Aranzadi’s video. “Oldest text written in Basque found in Spain” (“Oldest known text in ancient Basque discovered in Spain”) reads the headline of the news report written in English. The text has also been shared on their social networks:

In Brazilthe newspaper “Brazilian Mail”, based in Brasilia, publishes a somewhat longer article and accompanies the information with a photo of the bronze hand. In a text written in Portuguese, he confirms that it is the oldest writing of “Basque” and that it was found in Navarre, “confirmed”, he adds (“Texto basco mais antigo já conhecido é encuentro em Navarra; confirm” ).
In addition, he spread the news to the nearly 900,000 followers of his Twitter account:

The Brazilian newspaper is not the only one to report the news in this language. The CNN channel on Portuguese territory (CNN Portugal) has dedicated an extensive news post on its website, illustrating it with several photos of the find and the tweet published by the president of Navarra, María Chivite. As it stands out, the most primitive text written in “old Basque” has been found in “Northern Spain” (Descoberto no norte de Espanha texto mais velho em ‘basco antigo’ conhecido até agora).
In the tweet published about the news, they specify that Irulegi’s hand was among the remains of the castle of Irulegui, southeast of Pamplona:
