The latest case of a series of rapes in Vienna-Meidling caused a stir. As is known, an 18-year-old Iraqi is still detained. The two girls, aged 11 and 14, were cared for by MA 11, the Vienna youth welfare office. The Iraqi had already been sentenced to six months in prison in February of this year for severe coercion.
According to detectives, the two girls went to the 18-year-old’s apartment on Thursday afternoon to buy ecstasy. The 17-year-old was there when the attacks took place. The girls managed to escape from the apartment and call the police. According to the management, the men were arrested a short time later in the apartment.

The suspect would even have filmed the rape of the elderly. The recordings were then sent via Instagram.
“Severe Personality Disorder”
As early as February, a psycho-evaluation indicated a “severe personality disorder with a strong tendency to emotional instability with explosive outbursts of aggression”. At the time, however, the court granted him conditional leave to be placed in an institution for mentally deviant offenders.
There was further discussion as to whether the Youth Welfare Office of the City of Vienna (MA 11) violated its duty to supervise the two girls. Bureau Jeugdzorg itself pointed out that the children, like everyone else, can move freely.
