Date:

Salzburg police detained a heavily intoxicated taxi driver on Friday morning who said he wanted to drive from Germany to Italy. The 49-year-old from the Rosenheim district in Bavaria had almost 2.5 promille alcohol, so the officers confiscated his driver’s license and prohibited him from driving further, the Salzburg state police reported.

Another road user had informed the police that there was a taxi on the A10 Tauernautobahn near Zederhaus with an activated alarm, so with a red flashing light.

In St. Michael, police stopped the vehicle. The driver stated that the alarm was activated due to a defect. His passenger in the taxi was an acquaintance with whom he wanted to go to Italy.
