A driver narrowly escaped an accident in Gloggnitz, Lower Austria, on Saturday morning. The driver lost control of the vehicle, collided head-on with a bridge railing and pierced it. A few centimeters should ultimately be decisive…
It is not clear why the driver lost control. At around 4:30 a.m., the vehicle broke through the railing of the bridge over the Auebach.
The driver was “lucky in disguise”, reports the fire service. Because the car came to a stop a few centimeters before the abyss.
The driver was not injured, but the car was badly damaged in the accident, as was the bridge railing. The latter had to be dismantled and provisional protection had to be established. The passenger car was born with a crane.
