Twenty activists from Iparralde will be tried for the “blockade” carried out on July 23 as part of a day of disobedience called to demand the release of ETA prisoners Ion Parot and Jakes Esnal.

More than 1,700 people took part in the actions carried out to block the airport, train tracks and highway.

Participants in the airport blockade were fined 350 euros each, and 9 people will be tried for blocking the train tracks and another 11 for the blockade of the highway. A total of 26 people were arrested during the day, although they were released under charges.

The first trials will take place from 15 December in Dax. That is why they have asked people to come and support the defendants. Despite the fines and lawsuits, Bake Bidean is positive about the protest, partly because Ion Parot and Jakes Esnal were released a few weeks ago.

The suspects have stated that they will admit the facts in the trial. Anita Lopepe and Panpi Sainte Marie have assured that.
