Police checks – drug traffickers taken out of traffic in Salzburg

Date:

During a focus check, the police in the city of Salzburg took three drug drivers out of circulation on Saturday. Another was captured in Pinzgau. Drivers’ licenses were taken from the men caught and related reports were filed.

A 27-year-old caught the attention of a civilian patrol in the area of the motorway exit “Salzburg-West” in the afternoon. The test for THC was positive, which the driver justified by consuming about four joints at a party about a week ago. The company doctor then determines that he is unfit to drive.

At the same time, a 33-year-old man from Upper Austria was stopped with his car on the national road Linz. The vehicle was apparently tuned. During the check, officers found that the driver was intoxicated. He too had tested positive for THC.

On the Innsbruck federal road, the police encountered an aggressive drug driver in a souped-up car in the evenings. The man proved to be incorrigible because he had only recently been reported for the unauthorized conversions. The 24-year-old from Flachgau was apparently under the influence of drugs and refused a test. Only when the company doctor established a clear disability did the young man admit to having used cocaine the day before.

Late in the evening, a 23-year-old in Kaprun was targeted by the traffic police. The Pinzgauer admitted to using a cannabis product.
