Christmas presents from prison? If you are still looking for a gift idea, you can find it on November 23 and 24 at the Vienna Palace of Justice – at the traditional Christmas bazaar of the prisons. In addition, gifts made by prisoners can also be ordered online.
The bazaar takes place from 8am to 5pm. 16 of the 28 prisons are participating. Each product is made from high-quality raw materials and natural materials and is therefore unique, according to the Ministry of Justice. The (online) offer – which can be found at www.jailshop.at – varies from small gifts such as beeswax candles to decorative works of wood or Christmas decorations to Christmas cards.
All products are manufactured under the expert supervision of prison guards. Proceeds from the bazaar go towards the purchase of new working materials.
