Fire alarm on Monday evening in St. Johann in Tirol in the Kitzbühel district: In a school with an integrated dormitory, there was a fire in a classroom – the janitors and teachers could prevent worse. After the emergency services arrived, other fire alarms suddenly sounded – fire had also broken out in the basement. The police are investigating!
Two fires, almost at the same time, in the same building: Shortly before 9 p.m., the St. Johann in Tirol fire brigade was alerted. “A pen on a desk in a classroom and an adjacent bulletin board caught fire. The fire has already been extinguished by the janitors and teachers present and the students have been evacuated outside by the supervisors,” said the fire service.
Fire alarm also in the basement
When the Floriani disciples started looking for possible embers with thermal imaging cameras, the following alarm suddenly sounded. More fire alarms were triggered! “In the basement, objects were burning under a shoe dryer, to which the flames had already spread,” the fire brigade continues.
Control fire quickly
With heavy respiratory protection and with the help of a fire extinguisher and a water hose in the room, the emergency services were able to quickly get this fire under control and extinguish it. The affected areas were then made smoke-free with a pressure aerator.
The police launched an investigation
According to the current status, no one was injured. The cause of the fires is currently unknown. The police started an investigation. The St. Johann fire brigade was deployed with three vehicles and 15 men.
