From Monday evening around 7:30 p.m., the emergency call for the emergency services in the state of Salzburg was unreachable. In the meantime, urgent requests for help could be directed to the police control rooms (number 133) and the fire brigade (number 122). The telephone provider A1 was able to restore availability around 9 p.m.
A spokeswoman for telephone operator A1 could not say on Monday evening exactly why the malfunction occurred. But it could have been a software bug. The company’s technicians circumvented the problem and thus ensured that the emergency number was available again around 9 p.m.
The accessibility of the emergency services was ensured at all times via the control rooms of the fire brigade and the police via numbers 112, 122 and 133. The numbers of the general practitioner (number 141) and the emergency call for mountain rescue (number 140) were also affected.
