The spastic disabled Mühlviertler (47) urgently needs a lift to relax his body with bath therapy without outside help.
Thomas is a cheerful, curious and open-minded person. Since birth, the Mühlviertler has suffered from a spastic disorder that considerably limits his life radius. As a result of this condition, he cannot walk or write independently. In daily life, he is therefore dependent on care and support.
Shared apartment instead of parental home
The 47-year-old has been living for seven years with five other disabled people in a residential care center near Urfahr. He has a single room there with his own bathroom. Before that, he lived with his parents in the Perg district. But after the death of his father, the frail and elderly mother was no longer able to care for the son on her own.
Supplied with a trailer
Thomas works in a workshop for the disabled, running errands with his electric wheelchair and trailer – including delivering materials from one work group to another. He is very communicative and social and likes to exchange ideas with other residents and employees.
Soap Opera Fan
In his spare time, Thomas likes to watch TV. His absolute favorite series is the soap opera “Storm of Love”, which he has recorded every time he misses it. He is also a passionate card player (Uno), likes to drink cola and prefers to eat Knackwurst and Frankfurter.
Hippotherapy and bath lift
Horseback riding (hippotherapy) would be extremely important to him as a form of therapy, but he cannot afford it as often as he would like. And bathing is also ideal for relaxing your body. But the care bath is very high, two people have to lift in and out at a time. Thomas’ biggest Christmas wish: An elevator (costs between 1200 and 1800 euros) with which he can do it himself. Maybe the “Krone” family can make that possible for him?
