The unions CGT, LAB, ESK, ELA, SiPcte, Intersindical Valenciana and CNT have declared a strike day at the post office for next Monday, November 28.
In a joint note, they explained that they have decided to strike because of the “impossibility” of making progress in negotiations on the next collective agreement.
Specifically, they are asking for the salary review clause to be included in the new collective agreement to link salaries to the CPI, the establishment of 35 hours per week and the recovery of all jobs that have been lost over the past 20 years.
In turn, the call centers demand institutional nature, such as the increase in the budget item for the provision of the Universal Postal Service (SPU), which is reduced year after year until it falls to the current 110 million, according to the unions, and the inclusion of Correos personnel in the basic status of civil servants (EBEP).
Trade union organizations have denounced a loss of purchasing power of about 20% for workers and 25% for civil servants and regret that this is bringing the postal group closer to the level of the Minimum Interprofessional Wage (SMI).
