Serious accident Tuesday in the Tyrolean Oberland: A motorist (91) collided head-on with another car near a crossroads in Mötz (Imst district). Summary of the accident: Three people were injured.
The 91-year-old resident left the Inntalautobahn A12 in Mötz around 10 a.m. and stopped at the intersection with the country road. But when he wanted to drive further south, a collision occurred: he collided head-on with the car of a 73-year-old who also wanted to drive south on the Mieming federal road.
The 73-year-old’s vehicle was thrown into a traffic island, the 91-year-old’s car spun on its own axis and only came to a stop in the oncoming lane.
Total road closure
A total of three people were injured in the accident: the two occupants (65 and 71 years old) in the 73-year-old’s car were seriously injured in the accident and had to be taken to the clinic in Innsbruck. The 91-year-old went to the doctor herself. Only the 73-year-old was unharmed.
The highway was completely blocked during the rescue operation. The Silz volunteer fire brigade was deployed with three vehicles and 20 men.
