After heavy shelling by the Russian army on the Ukrainian energy infrastructure again, the municipal services are working hard to repair the damage. The Ministry of Energy has already announced a success story: three Ukrainian nuclear power plants, which were disconnected from the power grid for safety reasons, have been reconnected.
The state operator Energoatom explained on Telegram on Wednesday that the emergency system of the three nuclear power plants Rivne, Pivdennoukrainsk and Khmelnytska had been activated as a result of the Russian shelling. As a result, all reactors were automatically disconnected from the power grid. The Ministry of Energy announced on the Telegram online service on Thursday morning that the affected nuclear power plants will resume supplying power in the evening.
After the heavy Russian missile attacks, the electricity and water supply in Kiev was at least partially restored in the morning. “70 percent of the capital is without electricity so far,” Mayor Vitali Klitschko said on his Telegram channel on Thursday. In any case, it was possible to supply the districts on the left bank of the Dnipro with water again.
